A BIT OF HISTORY: "...Change of Command - VP-0919: CDR Wayne S. Stanfield relieved CDR Paul F. Blunt...." Naval Aviation News July-August 1990 Page 34 [10JUL2001]
A BIT OF HISTORY: "...The units were designated as VP-919, VP-0516 etc. refering to the Patrons that they were to augment in time of war. These units had training tracks for a P-3C when all the rest of the RESERVE VP's were flying either P-3A's or B's. Also, they were a part of the Reg Nav squadron's manpower document. The one I am familiar with was VP-919 at NAS Point Mugu, California . VP-0516 was located at NAS Jacksonville, Florida and VP-1113 was located at NAS Glenview, Illinois..."
