VAH-10 Notice 
 
  NOTICE: "...Seeking information (Veteran's Claim) for a former Shipmate who served with VAH-10 during a 1970 WesPac Cruise.  During the cruise aboard the USS Shangri-La (CV-38), he was sent to FASU/NSA DaNang, Republic of Vietnam to work on aircraft.  If you served during that time - we sure would like to hear from you.   NOTICE: "...I am attempting to locate anyone who may have known and served with LCDR Rodney Max Chapmen.  We believe he flew with VP-19 (1960-1962) at NAS Moffett Field, California.  He was lost while a member of VAH-10, Carrier Air Wing 21 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43).  On February 18, 1969, he was the pilot of a Tanker Aircraft (KA-3B) on a refueling mission. His aircraft was running low on fuel and he tried to make it back to the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) but the plane fell into the ocean. His remains were not recovered.  I am assisting his daughter Audrey in  reconstructing Rod's VP experience.  Rod and I were instructor pilots at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Florida (1962-1965).  Thanks for your assistance..."
